Mitsuhide was a bit concerned about Leanne lately. Lately, he noticed that in the morning that she hadn't been eating much during breakfast, or if at all. For as long as he had been with the hereon girl, he knew that wasn't normal for her. On top of that, she looked quite tired as well.

So at his insistence, he made an appointment for her with one of the local doctors. He even made sure she actually went to the doctor by taking her to the doctor's office himself. It honestly won't surprise him if she would skip the appointment, telling him that he was being overly worried.

So here he was, outside the building where the doctor's office was, waiting for her to come out.

The sight of food lately made her sick, but especially in the morning. When she wasn't feeling sick, she just felt more and more exhausted. Leanne did her best to hide what she was feeling from Mitsuhide as she didn't want to worry him.

But even then, she could tell that he knew and was worried. And smart.... and also knew her all too well. She was sure that it was just a phase and if they waited it out, then it will pass.

Only to be shocked by the news from the doctor. It took her a while as the news they gave her was surprising. A brief flash of fear went through her, fear and worry as she idly takes the report and notes, heading out to where her mate was.

Her mate... Mitsuhide. How was he going to react to the news? Without thinking, she leaves the building, her shocked expression not leaving her face.

"Dar-Darling?" How to even start to tell him? "Lets..Let's... Let's get something lite to eat. I think I need to rest a moment."

The look on her face as she exited the building was more than enough to make him worry even more. He frowned with concern as he went up to her.

"Little bird, what's wrong?" He asked gently as he rested his hands on her shoulders. "What did the doctor tell you in there?"

If she was severely ill, he will do anything in his power to make sure she gets the best treatment.

He was even more worried... She frowns a little before leaning against him, when she felt his hands on her shoulders.

"Darling... I will tell you but, I am still trying to understand it myself." Perhaps the promise that she will tell him will help ease his worries.

She leans up and kisses his cheek. "Take me somewhere quiet to get something to eat? I am feeling hungry." A small pause. "I'll let you carry me."

He sighed and kissed the top of her head. He believed her when she said that she will tell him, so he wasn't going to push too hard yet. But first, it was best that he get her something to eat. A nutritious meal will most likely do her good.

"Alright, but if you keep me waiting for too long, I will find out another way."

His arm goes around her waist and he starts to guide her to a cafe that was very much like the restaurants back in his homeworld. Miso soup and vegetarian-friendly onigiri were likely to be light enough for her.

Her eyes closed at the kiss to the top of her head, feeling comforted by the gesture. "Thank you..." Food would do her good as she hasn't eaten yet today.

At his words, she couldnt help but to force out a chuckle. "You always seem to find things out easily. You... You wouldn't have to look hard as the doctor gave me papers." A small sigh. "But, I... I would prefer to be the one to tell you."

She easily follows his lead to a cafe, smiling at the offerings. He was right, those would be light enough for her as well as some iced tea. Her eyes close as they find their seat as she rests for a brief moment.

"You are far too good for one as myself...How did I become so lucky to have you as a mate?" She murmurs before going to slowly eat.

He settles next to her after giving the waitress their order. His arm goes back around her shoulders. As much as he wants to know what was plaguing her right away, he will let her tell him when she feels ready.

A soft chuckle escaped him. "I feel the same way. From my perspective, I'm the luckiest man alive to have you as my mate." He turned to the food in front of him, and in true Mitsuhide style, he crushes the onigiri, letting the rice and filling go into the miso soup before he starts to eat.

When she felt his arm around her shoulder, she goes to idly lean against him for not only snuggling but also a small amount of support. His willingness to wait made her fall more in love with him.

Her ears wiggled at his return statement. "I bet that I am luckier than you with that." A small giggle leaves her as he eats in his true fashion of style. She just pities any poor cook who took the time to carefully make said items. For herself, she goes to take a very careful bite of her onigiri, sets it down as she goes to focus to keep it in her.

Eat... She needs to eat. Eat and keep the food inside. Once she was sure it was going to stay down, she goes to eat slowly but was still eating.

".... When we get home, I will tell you."

Another chuckle came from him. "I suppose we have to agree to disagree on who's the luckiest then." He turned back to his meal while keeping an eye on her. Didn't the doctor give her anything for nausea? Until this passes, he's going to make sure that doesn't eat anything that will upset her stomach too much.

"And I'll hold you to that. I don't think I could stand you keeping a secret from me for much longer."

A small chuckle and a nod of her head. "Of course, but also know that I am right." And back to her meal.... it was a struggle to eat it. The doctor most likely did give her something to take later.

"Asking you to wait longer would be torture for you, Darling." She forces a chuckle despite feeling the waves of nausea.

Now she focuses on the battle of eating, only stopping or pausing when her nausea was getting bad. Eating what she could before going to push her plate away as she couldnt eat another bite. Her hands moving to hold her head up as she just focuses on keeping everything where they should be.

"I.... I.... I dont think I can finish.... I am sorry, Darling..."

Normally he would push her to at least drink the broth of the soup, but it looked like she really was going to be ill again. "It's alright, little one. I'll go pay and then take you home."

He got up to pay the waitress before going back over to her. Gently, he gathered her into his arms and carried her out of the restaurant. Once outside, he didn't put her down, making it clear that he was going to carry her all the way home.

She felt a small amount of guilt for wasting the food but... She doesn't think she can stomach eating more. It was a battle just for this much. "I am sorry."

Why what was happening to her is causing so many issues in her?

Normally, she would protest about being carried in public like this but... She didn't have the strength, not this time. It also feels comforting as well to have such a doting mate, even with the stares and looks they were getting.

"You keep on proving that you make it easy to fall in love with you more." A murmur as she goes to rest her head against his shoulder. "I love you so so so very much."

And without thinking, her hands moves to rest against her stomach, petting it.

He sees her hand going to her stomach. Could it be? It could just be that her stomach was upset though. He didn't dare get his hopes up. The truth will come out once they get home.

"And I love you very much as well, my little one." He kissed the top of her head. Leave it to him to not give a care about people staring at them. "I want nothing more than for you to be well."

Not long they made it to their home.

She kept her hand on her stomach as he carries her. Oh Misuhide, if only you knew just how close you were with your initial thought.

A force chuckle as he kisses the top of her head. "Same, I do not like worrying you like this."

She felt too tired and unwell to care for the stares as he carried her. They really couldn't go home fast enough. Once they enter the threshold, she nuzzles him a little.

"Take me to bed, Darling and get me some water?"

"How about ginger tea instead? It should help ease your nausea." And he could sweeten it with a little bit of honey so that the taste wasn't too strong. He just knew that he had to get her something to ease her suffering.

He took her to their bedroom and set her on the bed. "I'll be right back. When I return, you really need to tell me what the doctor told you so that I know how to take care of you." He can't stand being kept in the dark about this.

"Ginger tea sounds good. Thank you for all your hard work." She felt a little guilty for all that she has been putting him through but at least, now they have answers as to what is wrong with her. She will have to find a way to pay him back for everything he has done for her.

A small sigh of relief leaves her as he sets her on the bed and she relaxes fully into it. "Okay, I will tell you then." She was worried and perhaps a little fearful but... Mitsuhide was her chosen mate and he deserves to know. When he leaves, she goes to rest a hand on her stomach again and idly moves her hand in a caressing motion.

Mitsuhide left the room to brew the tea. A few minutes later he returns with the tea and a plate of rice crackers, something that was also good for settling upset stomachs. Perhaps the food at the restaurant was a bit too heavy?

He hands Leanne the cup and sets the plate on the nightstand before sitting on the edge of the bed next to her.

"Alright, let's hear it. What did the doctor say was ailing you?

Tea and rice crackers? He... He was really thinking of everything for her. A small sigh leaves her before she smiles up at him, accepting the cup of tea.

Right, it was time wasn't it? This will only seal everything about this as real.

She goes to set the tea cup down and take hold of his hands.

"Its... Its still hard to process Darling but...." She goes to smile up at him, tears forming and falling freely from her eyes as she smiles.

"... You are going to be a father."

It was rare to catch Mitsuhide by surprise, but Leanne did just that with that one little sentence. For a few seconds, he stared at her in shock.

Of course, that was one of the things that came to mind when he saw her rubbing her stomach, but he didn't want to get his hopes up. Plus, her not acting excited about the news threw him off and made him think that it was something more serious. Now that he thought about it, she probably acted the way she did because she was worried about how he would react. Which also made him realize that his shocked reaction may not be a good thing...

So, he quickly shook off the shock, and his arms quickly wrapped around her. He felt like his heart was going to burst with joy.

"Thank you," he said against her hair as he held her tight.

Seeing his surprised expression normally would cause her to laugh at him, since it was a rare treat. But for this news, what she told him, his reaction did make her worry a little.

But then she felt his arms wrapping around her and it was her turn to gain a surprised expression. Even more so at his words.

"Dar-Darling?...." And oof! He was holding her quite tightly. "You are squishing us, Darling."

He loosened his grip but still held her. Letting her go at the moment was out of the question.

"Sorry, Little One." And then he gave a soft chuckle. "Or should I say 'Little Ones now?"

He straightens up, smiling so that he could look at her face again. "I cannot express how happy this news makes me."

Now that he knows what is "wrong" with her, he could help her. First, he will need to look up foods that help with morning sickness, and what foods she should avoid.

It was all that she could ask for in the moment. For him to loosen his grip a little.

A small chuckle as the tears of joy continues as he gave such a positive reaction to the news. "I would think that I have moved up from being a little one now, Darling~"

Seeing his smile as he looks at her. It nearly reminds her of the time when she accepted his proposal to marry him. "It brings my heart joy to hear that."

She attempts to shift just enough to try and take one of his hands to rest it against her belly so he could "touch" their nestling. "The doctor gave me some papers, perhaps there is some useful information in them?"

"What are you hoping for? A son or a daughter?"

Mitsuhide lets her pull away a bit just so she can guide his hand to her still flat stomach. Pregnant... She was carrying his child. Their child. He starts to rub small circles on her belly.

"I do not doubt that. Perhaps they also gave you a list of foods that will be good for you and the baby that is more agreeable with your usual diet."

He gave a small chuckle and leaned his forehead against hers. "Back in my world, men always seem to want their firstborn to be a son. But for me, I don't care if the child is a boy or a girl. Just as long as both you and the baby are happy and healthy, I will be happy."

She smiles as he goes to touch her belly, rubbing the small circles. A baby, she was having a baby.

It felt surreal, like it was a dream that she will wake up from and soon. There will be a steep price for her to pay when the child is born but, she would gladly pay it over and over again.

"I hope so, but you are the one who knows how to read. I pray that it won't be too much work for you, Darling."

Her ears wiggling and her whole being seems to glow in the joy and happiness of expecting a little one. She couldnt help but to start cooing as he leans his forehead against hers.

"I shall pray the same then as well. Our nestling will be happy and healthy as well as you. We will need to think of a proper name for our nestling to call you."
